This story isn't for the faint of heart. The title of this book couldn't be more perfect. I was left with my heart aching while reading this. No, actually, I'm not sure if aching is enough to describe the pain I felt for these characters. S.M. Soto delivered a tragically beautiful story that I was devouring the pages faster than I have in a while.
Liam and Bea are perfect for each other but there is a lot from their past to work out and then Bea is being tormented. Liam is determined to figure out what happened to the girl who he loved with all of his being after he left. What happened to make her this way? Why did she end it with them? Why did she stop being friends with her best friend? Meanwhile Bea is trying to survive her experiences. She wants to know why the boy her world revolved around left her and never looked back? Why people can't see the pain and secrets she has? What will happen when all is revealed? How can she learn to overcome and end the torment.
S.M. Soto really outdid herself with this one. I know it was a hard one to read and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to write it. She did the subject matter justice and brought to light something many may overlook and not see. She made something so awful into something so beautiful and this is why I have become such a fan of her work. This has to be the best of 2019 that I've read so far and I'm 99% sure it will be the best long after today.

S.M. Soto was born and raised in Northern California where she currently resides with her son. Her love for reading began when she was a young girl, and has only continued to grow into adulthood. S.M. lives for reading books in the romance genre and writing novels with relatable characters. She refers to herself as a bit of a romance junkie. S.M. loves to connect with readers and eat copious of donuts that will surely lead to her demise (carbs are life).
