Blurb

They say if you love someone, set them free, and if they come back, it’s meant to be.
I didn’t exactly set Vanessa free.
I screwed up.
She left.
Five years later, she’s back wearing another man’s ring.
And this time I have no choice but to let her go.
But fate has other plans for us.
And once again, I find myself face-to-face with the love of my life.
I take that as a sign from the universe that we truly are meant to be.
She wants me to let her go.
Believe me, I tried. Not once but twice.
It broke me.
It broke her.
It broke us.
I won’t make the same mistake again.
Because if you truly love someone, you don’t set them free.
You hold on to them with everything you’ve got.

Baller (Heritage Bay Series: #5)Baller by M.A. Foster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first book by M.A. Foster and what an introduction. I realize I am starting this series on the fifth book but the good news is that I wasn't lost in the least bit. I was totally engrossed in this couples story. I wanted to lash out at both of them for their stubbornness and hurtful words but at the same time I wanted to hug them for their heartbreak. Both are to blame but can you blame two people who were so young to begin with???

These two don't have an easy love. The chemistry is undeniable and their hearts are one so that makes it hard to give it to another. After coming back into his life once again he is determined to make her his again but she isn't going to make it easy. If he wants her it is going to take persistence and determination. Does he have what it takes? Will they be able to get over the past hurts and open their selves up? Will she push him away one too many times?

So many questions and possibilities that you need to read it in order to get the answers to. It is definitely worth it for sure. You will be sucked in and not be able to stop until the end!

Blurb

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

At first, my neighbor Deacon frustrated me.

Sure, he was great-looking and friendly.

But our walls were thin, and on occasion, he’d bring women to his place and keep me awake while he “entertained” them.

As a single mother to an infant, I didn’t appreciate it.

So, finally it was my turn.

When my daughter wouldn’t stop wailing one night, Mr. Manwhore came knocking on my door.

Miraculously, at the sound of his voice, Sunny stopped crying. And when he held her…she eventually fell asleep in his arms.

Deacon was rough on the exterior, but apparently on the inside? Mr. Single-and-Ready-to-Mingle was a baby whisperer.

After that night, we became friends.

He’d go for coffee runs. Come over to chat. Normal friend stuff.

But over time, our conversations ran deeper. We got closer.

Until one night we crossed the line.

Our friendship turned into a complicated mess.

I’d gone and fallen for a guy who’d sworn off commitment and kids.

I knew Deacon was starting to care for me too, even though Sunny and I didn’t fit into any plan he’d ever imagined for himself.

He was wrong for me—so wrong that I’d dubbed him the “anti-boyfriend.”

Then why did I wish more than anything that I could be the one woman to change him?

Review Tour for The Rivals by Vi Keeland

Title: The Rivals
Author: Vi Keeland
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 13, 2020

Blurb

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.
Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.
Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.
The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.
Eventually, they all went their separate ways.  Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.
Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding.  And then Weston and I did, too.
For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.
Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.
Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.
As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.
Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good.  We were fire and ice.
But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though.   Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

The RivalsThe Rivals by Vi Keeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Looking for a book about to enemies whose chemistry is undeniable?? Who are completely combustable, a past of hate and rivalry? Families that are completely messed up and do nothing but add turmoil to their lives? Then stop what you are doing and get this book!!!

You are going to be sucked into this book from the beginning. I had to know everything about these two from their past to their present. The secrets that are revealed, the hot as hell sexy scenes, the fighting, if they overcome the family feud, their family's expectations and hurts, if they will open themselves up to each other, if they accomplish their missions and more.

Vi Keeland is an author I know is sure to deliver and once again that holds true. I couldn't put this book down and I gorged myself on this story and lost out on precious sleep and you know what??? IT WAS WORTH IT!!! Weston and Sofia's story was addicting and worth losing sleep for sure!

EXCERPT

I pause to see if he makes the connection. But even as I hold out my hand for him to shake, I refuse to think about the fact I picked my pen name from a derivative of the hurtful name hurled at me day after day for four excruciating years. Until in the end, it was this beautiful man in front of me who did it in the most public, hurtful way imaginable.
Still, I find it difficult to swallow as the boy-turned-man I never quite forgot doesn’t take my hand to shake but instead lifts it to his lips. “Rierson Perrault. Call me Ry.”
Isaac places his drink down next to him, but Rierson doesn’t release my hand. “Tell me about yourself, Kee.”
There’s a kernel of the girl who tutored him who wants to be outraged and offended he doesn’t recognize me. It’s tempered by the more pragmatic part of me who looks in the mirror every day. I wouldn’t know who I was either if I hadn’t lived through the transformation myself. Instead of slamming both of my hands in Ry’s chest, or dumping my excellent wine over his shirt, I find myself slipping into a mask I know well. And within a few minutes, he’s looking at me much the same way most people do when they realize I’ve hit “the list”—with admiration and respect.
It’s a whole different look than the pained one I last saw on his face, that’s for sure.
Shoving aside the voices in my head screaming at me to tell him who I am, I finish my drink and wave for another.
Time passes quickly as Ry and I keep talking. It feels like only minutes, so I’m surprised when Isaac quietly approaches to tell me it’s the last call.
I feel good—so much more relaxed with Ry now than when he first approached me. In talking about my life, even if he doesn’t know who I am, I realize it doesn’t matter if anyone knows. My lips curve. I got the closure I came here for. Feeling more relaxed with the man I’ve been talking to for I don’t even know how long, I’m about to ask Rierson if he’d like a final drink when he brushes my shoulder-length hair away from my cheek. “How about we get a bottle of whatever you’re drinking to go?” His fingers rest on the pulse at the base of my throat.
The invitation is as open and relaxed as our conversation has been. We’re just two strangers. Only I know there’s so much more that lies between us, that long ago, his hurtful words were my last memory of this city.
If I walk away, we’re a chance at what might have been—nothing more, nothing less.
But as I stare into fathomless blue eyes, for once I want to know what it might have been like if I could have had a date—if I was “good enough” to have been seen with, not just for help with tutoring. I want to know for one night what I should have been able to have felt if I were as beautiful as my grandparents told me I was, as Ry himself said I was. Even if he only muttered it the one time when he hugged me after he got the grade that guaranteed him entry to his first-choice college.
So, I do what I normally do when I find an attractive man who obviously is interested in me—even if it’s only for just one night. I turn off the memories of who and what I was. There’s no place for Kelsey here. Then again, other than with my family and with Angel, maybe there’s no place for her anywhere anymore. If I didn’t know Rierson before tonight, I’d want him. And, my heart taunts me quietly, there’s no way I would have been able to have had him before.
Sliding off the stool, I let my hand rest lightly against his chest. “I have an early flight.” I’m pleased to see the flash of disappointment before I whisper, “I don’t need any more wine if I’m going to keep my head on straight when I touch you.”
His nostrils flare dangerously. “Why don’t you wait for me by the elevator?” I suggest. I still need to sign the bill, and I don’t want him to see that Kee Long and Kelsey Kennedy are one and the same.
Tipping his head close to mine, I feel my hard-won stomach muscles clench when his lips brush my ear. “Don’t be long.” He takes a quick nip, then strides off. Quickly, I scribble my real name on the receipt with a hefty tip for Isaac before following him.
I’ll give myself a few hours to indulge in my fantasies, the ones Kelsey had that Kee will fulfill. Then my ass will be on a plane back to New Orleans, never to see him again.
***
Quietly, I slip out of bed where Ry’s still sprawled. The bed is a wreck, much like my body. I refuse to delve into my heart or mind. God, the things we did…it almost makes me want to call the airline and reschedule my flight back, but I force myself to turn my back to him and tug the silky material over my head.
I hunt for—and find—my bra. I don’t bother with the panties since Ry ripped them off me and they’re lying in shreds on the floor. Sliding my feet back into my shoes, I slip out of the bedroom to where I dropped my clutch.
I flick open the clasp and pull out my room key. Holding it tightly in my hand, I pause just before I open the door. God, he seems so perfect. If only I didn’t know what he’s really like.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun”.

After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never quite forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT.

Her work for a world-wide internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son.

When she’s not busy with her family or writing, Tracey can be found in her home in north Florida drinking coffee, reading, training for a runDisney event, or feeding her addiction to HGTV.

Release Blitz w/Review & Excerpt for Run With It (MacAteer Brothers #1) by M.L. Nystrom

Title: Run With It
Series: MacAteer Brothers #1
Author: ML Nystrom
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 1, 2020
Cover Designer: BookSmith Design

The struggle is real. Beverly spends so much of her time juggling her four kids, a dead-beat ex, and two jobs that she never has time for herself or another man in her life.

Then Connor moves in next door.

Connor is healing from a hard break from his family and is working to find his own identity. He has no interest in joining another one.

Then he meets his neighbor.

Two people building new lives. Two people with no time or energy for love. Bev and Connor are determined to stick to their plans, but life has other ideas—now they just have to run with it.

"Run With It" is a Dragon Runners motorcycle romance spin-off, featuring Connor from "Stud."

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was intrigued by the MacAteer brothers since they were introduced in Stud and I wasn't sure what to expect from this book since I am not used to reading anything that isn't an MC book by M.L. Nystrom. I am happy to say that I fell in love with this book. I loved every part of it. The crazy circus that is Beverly's life, the steadfast and true character that is Connor and the journey these two take to find happiness in their life.

Beverly was screwed over big time by her ex and she continues to be but she is a top notch mom and isn't about to let that keep her from being the best mom she can be. Like many others there are times where she feels like a failure and Connor couldn't come into this family's life at a better time. He doesn't necessarily make Beverly better but he helps, he contributes to the family, provides a male role that is needed and there is no strings or expectations involved. In fact the last thing Connor thinks he wants is a relationship and a family but as time goes by and Beverly starts dating maybe that is exactly what he wants.

This story just sucked me in. I wanted to jump in and beat Beverly's ex's ass so bad, I wanted to help her, I felt the stress and the feeling of never having enough time in a day. I felt every emotion and I love a story that sucks me in like that.

I can't wait to see what the other brothers have in store for us. They seem to want to be in a relationship and be tied down even less than Connor did.

The man turned and looked at the wide front porch where my kids were holding the welcome wagon. Just my luck to have them squabbling loudly when our new neighbor was moving in. As we moved to the driveway, I noticed he was a large man, broad and solid. I wore “mom” jeans with elastic at the waist, sneakers and an oversized hoodie with a picture of our school mascot peeling from age. My hair sat scraped back in its usual ponytail and any scrap of makeup I had on from earlier today had worn off hours ago.
Please don’t be handsome too, please don’t be handsome too, I prayed. It would be more of my luck to have a real hottie move in when I looked every bit of my age.
“I blocked you in, didn’t I?” His voice was deep and slightly accented. Ya ain’t from around here, are ya? floated through my mind in a deep Southern twang.
“Um… yeah. We were just leaving for the football game and you’re makin’ us late.” Mattie spoke up. Not a shy bone in that kid’s body.
“Mattie, don’t be rude.”
The man didn’t seem to mind my son’s bold statement. “Sorry about that lad. I didn’t realize you were leaving. Get on in your car there and I’ll move my truck for you. Yeah?”
As I got closer, his dark hair came into view and the lower half of his face sported a short beard of the same color. He wasn’t classically handsome, but he certainly wasn’t bad to look at either. His bright green eyes had small lines that radiated from them, making him around my age. He was definitely rugged and his tanned skin made me think he worked outdoors a lot.
“That’s very fair Mr.-?” I hedged.
“MacAteer. The name’s Connor MacAteer.

ML Nystrom had stories in her head since she was a child. All sorts of stories of fantasy, romance, mystery and anything else that captured her interest. A voracious reader, she’s spent many hours devouring books; therefore, she found it only fitting she should write a few herself!

ML has spent most of my life as a performing musician and band instrument repair technician, but that doesn’t mean she’s pigeon-holed into one mold. She’s been a university professor, belly dancer, craftsperson, soap maker, singer, rock band artist, jewelry maker, lifeguard, swim coach, and whatever else she felt like exploring. As one of her students said to her once, “Life’s too short to ignore the opportunities.” She has no intention of ever stopping… so welcome to her story world. She hopes you enjoy it!
